About us

Kennedys history dates back to 1899 when Charles Frederick Kennedy became a Partner at the firm Paddison, Chapelle and Kennedy. Over the years the companys' name changed and in 1960 the name of the firm was simplified to Kennedys.

The success of Kennedys in all the markets we operate in around the world is based on the quality of its people. The firm has expanded considerably over the last eight years, largely as a result of organic growth but also by selected lateral hires made to strengthen key areas of expertise. We have a team of 117 partners and directors and over 550 staff worldwide, with UK offices in London, Belfast, Birmingham, Chelmsford, Cambridge, Maidstone, Manchester and Taunton.

In 2000 we opened our first two international offices in Hong Kong and Auckland, followed by Madrid, Sydney, Dubai and most recently Singapore. We also have an active network of associated offices around the world situated in Dubai, Dublin, Karachi, Lisborn, Mumbai, New Delhi, Paris, Santiago and Warsaw.
Kennedys’ global network enables us to meet the current and future needs of our clients, the insurance market and the aspirations of our people.

Our approach and values

We deeply value the relationships we build with our clients and we know that they value our warm, friendly, human approach. Our organisations values are built upon:

  • Being approachable and responsive.
  • Showing respect for people.
  • Being trustworthy and straightforward.
  • Delivering economic solutions.

Kennedys are here to provide answers, recommendations, strategy and tactics. We deliver these in plain English and it’s what we like to call – Legal advice in black and white.

"As an individual firm, they're one of THE firms as far as I'm concerned."
