Health, Safety and Environment Brief

2010 saw a number of interesting developments for those specialising in Health & Safety and Environmental law and practice. Among other things, it heralded the introduction of definitive sentencing guidelines for workplace fatality prosecutions, the conclusion of the criminal cases arising from the Buncefield explosion and, amidst much hoo ha, Lord Young's report into health and safety and its perception in the UK. A number of environmental disasters also caught the headlines, and proposals for a new Bribery Act gained real momentum.
