Client quote

For messy complex cases I can rely on them… they make me feel comfortable and I know they're up to speed… [there is a] good relationship between Kennedys and my staff and they have a good commercial attitude in terms of what we're jointly trying to achieve.

Construction and engineering

Kennedys' partners and associates are continually involved with mainstream construction matters, both contentious and non-contentious.

On the contentious side, partners and their teams advise insureds and insurers on the application of policies written in relation to the construction of harbours, tunnels, dams, office blocks, power stations, bridges and roads. In addition, we advise on disputes arising out of such projects for insureds, insurers, well-known employers, contractors and consultants.

On the non-contentious side the firm is involved in advising employers, banks, contractors and consultants, drafting and negotiating construction contracts, development and finance agreements, performance bonds, consultant appointments and related documentation. Types of projects in which we have been involved include powerplants and major infrastructure projects, office developments, NHS projects (including hospitals and surgeries), schools and universities, retail and housing projects. We also advise on environmental issues and insolvency matters relating to the construction sector.

On the engineering side, we have significant experience of both contentious and non-contentious work; in particular within the oil and gas and rail industries.

Kennedys' Construction Team is based in London, Belfast and Hong Kong.
