Led by partner, Suzanne Liversidge Sheffield is the latest addition to international litigation and dispute resolution law firm, Kennedys’ network of nine UK and six international offices, and wider network of affiliate offices. The opening takes place seven months after first announcing expansion plans into the Yorkshire region and north-east England.
The office fit-out has been fully completed to international standards and comprises 16,700 sq feet over two floors at the new, landmark city centre development on the Sheffield Digital Campus.
The Sheffield practice will advise clients in the region, across the UK and overseas, principally in the insurance, commercial, mining, retail, engineering and public sectors. The partners and their teams offer extensive expertise in employers’, public and motor liability, as well as retail, occupational disease, costs, contentious and non-contentious construction, insolvency and employment. The team has extensive experience in general commercial litigation and non-contentious commercial advice.
Suzanne Liversidge is a pre-eminent figure both in the region's business community and, as a lawyer, is regarded as a national leader in the field of defendant insurance work. Partners also focusing on dispute resolution in the insurance sector are: Judith Bloor, Cameron Clarke, Niall Edwards, Helen Snowball, Heidi Swales and Greg Woods. Diarmuid Deeney’s practice centres on contentious and non-contentious employment advice, David Fearon and Andrew MacCuish’s practice focuses on the construction and engineering sectors, and Steven Fennell’s practice covers insolvency and commercial work.
Nick Thomas, Senior Partner stated: "We are delighted to welcome these outstanding teams to Kennedys’ growing national and international network. The client relationships they bring are testimony to impressive service standards and top quality advice. We all look forward to building out from this excellent, new base in Sheffield."
Suzanne Liversidge commented: “We’re very pleased now to be part of Kennedys and look forward to expanding our presence in Sheffield. Our clients have been fantastic and I’d like to thank them for the support they’re showing us. A lot of people at Kennedys have moved heaven and earth – and quite a few crates! – to be ready to open our doors so quickly and I’d like to say how much we all appreciate this support from our new Partners and from Business Services teams.”
