- John regularly defends a major organisation against claims alleging that its employees have assaulted and/or bullied and/or abused various co-employees.
- Recent experience includes:;
- A serious assault in which one employee was attacked by another employee with a weapon, resulting in brain damage. The case settled for over £4 million damages.
- The alleged use of assault/abuse to encourage better involvement in exercises.
- Claims of injury being caused as a result of the excessive use of punishment.
- Alleged abuse/assault by a gang of employees including forced anal penetration of the Claimant and offering assistance to enable suicide. This involved a course of conduct by the gang over several weeks resulting in apparent severe PTSD. This employee had on separate occasions been bullied by employees not connected with the major course of conduct.
- Successfully obtaining a contribution to overall damages from an individual offender who as well as being an employee of the client was added to the proceedings as a Defendant.
